O Level Books

Hello everybody!

This post if for those who are not sure whether they should buy GCE O Level books.

Basically, these are the summary on what I think about both types of reference books.

CIE
  1. These books gives you more detailed explanations. This helps you really understand your subject. You definitely need it if you're doing IGCSE.
  2. The books are coloured and it all looks very pretty. There are also lots of diagrams (possibly in every page) Great way to remember your notes is through diagrams!

GCE O LEVEL
  1. Straight forward explanations. No long stories.
  2. Notes are arranged in an orderly manner. Great for quick revisions.
  3. Points, points, points! These are what that matters in answering your exam questions. You can write a long essay for your answer but if you don't write the right points, you don't get your marks. So these books are great so that you'll know what to write in your exams.

I think these 2 types of books compliment each other. I used both of them and I got great results. To me, CIE reference books should be read first then GCE O Level books should be read next.

GCE O Level books offers great revision notes but should be read after having some knowledge on the topic. I believe that will enhance and refresh your memory. CIE reference books on the other hand, ensures understanding on a new topic so read them first. In my opinion, both types of books are quite essential for your studies.
